I really like this guys work, in this everything looks almost like a mini world.

This is just incredible! Very well shot!

Driving

Driving from Martin Wilson on Vimeo.

I like driving in my car...
This could of been good as well to try, would of needed to use a tripod and an actual video camera though. My wee digital camera wouldn't last long enough I don't think plus the quality is very very poor!
I am very fond of time lapses but they would take a long time to complete and deadlines are pesky buggers.

Ad Obsession

Ad Obsession from dalas verdugo on Vimeo.

Also I think that the titles journey and self portrait are very limiting. They've been over done this year and it'd be nice to do something different.

The guy who made this video said they show it like 20 times and hour so he's became a little bit obsessed with it. It's quite creepy and i like they way he's spliced it together.

Stunning Lights

I-84 Timelapse 2 from dalas verdugo on Vimeo.

I just feel completely cheated, no doubt people in our class have had at least one idea which they know will never work because we don't have the equipment to do it.

Lake People

Lake People - Letus Extreme EX1 Film - HDTV from Tom Guilmette on Vimeo.

The shots in this are stunning, makes me think about doing some shots of Bridge of Cally but I know it'd pale in comparison with camera quality. True Scotland to me has always been up in the mountains, my dad is a keen hill walker so I've really grown up with it. Really wish I'd seen this earlier it would be impossible to go out and make the video I want now.

Science Machine

Science Machine from Chad Pugh on Vimeo.

I love how fast this video went, the shots of the eyes and fast changing people were great. If I had more time and some know how maybe I could make a better video.

Looking Down

looking down. from hrrrthrrr on Vimeo.

I liked how this video went in time with the music, Also it's being hosted on a video hosting website in far better quality than youtube definately what I'll use from now on.

Journey

My idea for Journey is basically to document my trip to college in the morning is like for me. Usually I'll fall asleep and my mind will be wandering off on the biggest tangent. I was going to use little snippets of footage from my journey sliced with some random footage in college/life outside. For the audio i wanted to blend the sound of the radio with people talking.

Self Portrait

My idea for my self portrait is based on the cut paper technique futher down in my blog. Using the idea that tattoos are a passion running through my viens I want to use the cut paper technique as a view of my insides. I want my organs tattooed with ink holders and anything else I can think off. Sound wise is going to be more difficult, I was hoping to use Spengler tracks blended with the sound of a tattoo machine. Using Spengler means I don't have to worry about copyright issues. Punk Rock music is where i feel most at home nowadays and the sound of a tattoo machine gives me goosebumps. I love everything about tattoos, the sounds and the smells.

Interesting cut paper

The cut paper figure technique in this is great!

History of Evil

This short film has definately given me an idea about how to put together my projects.

Thoughts and ideas

Since my camera only does quicktime videos, and we're using bane of my existence windows movie maker I can't take my own video footage to use. Taking this into consideration it looks like the basis of my work will have to be stop motion animation. I have always loved stop motion and remember trying to make wee stop mtoion films with my brother when we were wee. Only problem is it is time consuming, time being something I just don't seem to have. Que rant -

In order to be on this course I've had to pay £1225 in course fee's because I was on HNC Illustration 11 days too long. Not only that but according to SAAS my parents are loaded and lavish me with money so they give me a pathetic excuse of a loan to get by on. I would like to inform everyone that I indeed payed the £1225 I worked my ass off at the Co-op, my parents didn't give a penny, because they couldn't! Now I find out that I'm getting only a third of my travel expensese, I live in the middle of nowhere but because my parents are 'loaded' I'm getting diddly-sqit. My spare time is spent at my part-time job, because I just couldn't afford to be here any other way!

Idea To Be Proposed

For the self portrait my idea's are very based around tattoos. It's a passion, it's pumping through my body and keep's me going. Though how to convey this in a minute long film I have no clue. Journey is something I don't really have a clue about, sure I can document my journey to and from college but what a cop out(Sorry to anyone doing it!). I've thought about using the stop motion but twinning it with my photoshop skills to make it look a bit better than crappy movie makers abilities.

Edinburgh College Trip

On Tuesday the 18th of December the Fine Art department had a trip to Edinburgh to see the Joan Eardly exhibition. I myself didn't enjoy Joan's work, her seascapes were a muddy mess of paint. After spending an hour looking at all her work we were told to branch off and go to the different exhibitions being held across the capital. A group of us went the the Fruitmarket Gallery to see the exhibition of Swiss Artist Roman Signer. 4 of the installations were held downstairs

*to be filled in once I find my leaflets*

I left the Fruitmarket feeling even more annoyed at the modern art world. After watching the DVD where Signer explained the installations I couldn't help but laugh as it seemed to be that even he didn't understand what he was talking about. Is this what art has came to? Where's the craftsmanship? The skill? The Talent? It's the same reason I despise Philosophy students, how good a piece of art is nowadays seems to be based entirely on how utterly impossible it is to understand. Philosophy Students seem to think their the bee's knees just because they can ask a load of questions that no-one can answer, I say if your that smart maybe actually answer some of them.

My area in art that I love is shunned, art snobs say that it's not art yet shitting in a can is? It's all shock tactics and I'm yet to be impressed.

Sketch Theatre

Today I came across a website called Sketch Theatre. Whilst not being poncey and pretentious, the videos give an interesting look into how a well known artist structures their sketches.
