Looking Down

looking down. from hrrrthrrr on Vimeo.

I liked how this video went in time with the music, Also it's being hosted on a video hosting website in far better quality than youtube definately what I'll use from now on.

Journey

My idea for Journey is basically to document my trip to college in the morning is like for me. Usually I'll fall asleep and my mind will be wandering off on the biggest tangent. I was going to use little snippets of footage from my journey sliced with some random footage in college/life outside. For the audio i wanted to blend the sound of the radio with people talking.

Self Portrait

My idea for my self portrait is based on the cut paper technique futher down in my blog. Using the idea that tattoos are a passion running through my viens I want to use the cut paper technique as a view of my insides. I want my organs tattooed with ink holders and anything else I can think off. Sound wise is going to be more difficult, I was hoping to use Spengler tracks blended with the sound of a tattoo machine. Using Spengler means I don't have to worry about copyright issues. Punk Rock music is where i feel most at home nowadays and the sound of a tattoo machine gives me goosebumps. I love everything about tattoos, the sounds and the smells.

Interesting cut paper

The cut paper figure technique in this is great!

History of Evil

This short film has definately given me an idea about how to put together my projects.

Thoughts and ideas

Since my camera only does quicktime videos, and we're using bane of my existence windows movie maker I can't take my own video footage to use. Taking this into consideration it looks like the basis of my work will have to be stop motion animation. I have always loved stop motion and remember trying to make wee stop mtoion films with my brother when we were wee. Only problem is it is time consuming, time being something I just don't seem to have. Que rant -

In order to be on this course I've had to pay £1225 in course fee's because I was on HNC Illustration 11 days too long. Not only that but according to SAAS my parents are loaded and lavish me with money so they give me a pathetic excuse of a loan to get by on. I would like to inform everyone that I indeed payed the £1225 I worked my ass off at the Co-op, my parents didn't give a penny, because they couldn't! Now I find out that I'm getting only a third of my travel expensese, I live in the middle of nowhere but because my parents are 'loaded' I'm getting diddly-sqit. My spare time is spent at my part-time job, because I just couldn't afford to be here any other way!

Idea To Be Proposed

For the self portrait my idea's are very based around tattoos. It's a passion, it's pumping through my body and keep's me going. Though how to convey this in a minute long film I have no clue. Journey is something I don't really have a clue about, sure I can document my journey to and from college but what a cop out(Sorry to anyone doing it!). I've thought about using the stop motion but twinning it with my photoshop skills to make it look a bit better than crappy movie makers abilities.
